Ed Dunlop has an admirable strike rate of 26 per cent with juveniles here in recent seasons and it does not take a massive leap of faith to suggest INTIQAAL can take this on debut. Gelded prior to this first run, his sire was a first time winner over a mile as a two-year-old and his dam also won as a juvenile, so he could be smart enough for a race of this type. Danehill Sunset is a decent yardstick but is finding winning beyond him and may again find one too good, while Qamar may well improve for this drop back in trip after a quiet debut. Lean Machine is beatable in maidens and a better proposition may be Waheed, now dropped in trip and with first-time blinkers fitted.
