Verdict

A very competitive race where the versatile Mahadee should provide a challenge despite two plum last places in his last two runs. A return to the all-weather should see some improvement. Mister New York is an all-weather specialist but he is officially rated far lower than these, whilst Beauchamp Viceroy has also only ever won on the artificial surfaces but the jockey booking is notable as he returns from a break. CALVADOS BLUES makes a first start in Britain and is respected having won Group 3 races in France and his last appearance was in the Group 1 Dubai Duty Free in Meydan. He gets the tentative vote. It is interesting Ted Durcan rides Atlantis Star instead for Godolphin. This well bred son of Cape Cross makes a seasonal debut and it would be no surprise if plays a big role whilst Alrasm is worth a market check after a heavy loss in a classy affair at Ascot.
