In depth

Verdict

Plenty in with chances in an open event and the vote goes to Ashtree Belle while others in with a shout include Fantastic World, Val De Maal and Quiet Reading. The selection comes here in excellent heart at present having won two of her last three starts yet still looks fairly treated at the weights. The Derek Haydn-Jones-trained filly overcame trouble in running to win in comfortable fashion over course and distance last month and has confirmed her well being with a game effort to land a competitive handicap at Newbury last time. The daughter of Up And At 'Em is just 3lb higher for her latest success and goes well for today's apprentice rider so should give another good account. Fantastic World is the least exposed and is open to any amount of improvement after causing a shock when an easy winner of a maiden over six furlongs here last month. Simon Dow's gelding will be suited by the extra furlong and Daryll Holand is an eye-catching booking while Val De Maal and Quiet Reading are other recent winners who hold place claims off their current marks but Ashtree Belle is taken to continue her fine recent spell.
