Not a race that should take much winning and Kafuwain is the choice to open his account while Military Two Step looks best of the remainder with racecourse experience and Awesome Love is an interesting newcomer. Jeremy Noseda's charge showed plenty of promise on his debut when a close third behind a useful sort at Newmarket's Guineas meeting and was then far from disgraced over this trip at Newbury in similar company. The Mark Of Esteem colt was predictably outclassed in the Norfolk Stakes but wasn't given a hard time when his chance had gone and sets the standard at this level on his previous efforts. Military Two Step is progressing along the right lines and the form of his debut outing was given a boost as the winner followed up in Listed company next time. Karl Burke's charge doesn't need to improve by much to figure while Mark Johnston's yard continues in tremendous form so Awesome Love, a half-brother to the dual Group 3 winning miler Love Regardless, has to be respected and the market will provide further clues. However, Kafuwain takes a significant ease in grade and earns the vote in the first-time visor while the booking of Kieren Fallon is an obvious bonus.
