    Verdict

    None of these inspire much confidence. Goodwood Crusader has gone close the last twice but has a bit to find on these terms. Maiden winner Bastia is less exposed than both Who Told Jo Jo and Monoshka but disappointed when favourite at Newcastle while Peachey Carnehan and HIDDEN STASH share the same handicap mark. The former has been thereabouts in plating races but a chance is taken on the latter as he drops in class for Andrew Balding’s in-form yard on his return to action.
