In depth

Verdict

Placed on several occasions last year, Laureate has every chance on these terms though hasn’t raced since August. Wallangarra is another returning from a lay-off having gone close over 1m4f here when last in action while John Gosden’s Godolphin colt Chippenham showed little when sent off favourite on last month’s debut. He steps up in trip along with LONG JOHN SILVER, who still finished a close second at Lingfield despite showing signs of inexperience and can go one better in this. Hazamar has been hurdling but was rated 7lb higher after five starts in maiden company on the Flat in Ireland last year.
