Attorney gets the vote here with Pips Song and Playful Spirit likely to represent the chief dangers to our selection. The gelding was a beaten favourite when finishing a fair third behind Cleveland Way over this course and distance last time. He did not get much luck in running that day but goes well on this track, and from a favourable draw looks the one to beat here. Pips Song finished behind Attorney in that Wolverhampton race but he was slowly away and was being chased along to keep pace with the leaders. He has not been in the best of form of late but should go well in this company if he can avoid another sluggish start. Playful Spirit was disappointing last time when down the field here behind Sandgate Cygnet, but he cannot be ruled out on his previous run when a good winner over this trip at Southwell. Of the remainder, Silver Mascot would have place claims on the pick of his form, but he has been out of form of late and cannot be backed with any confidence. Port Natal has winning form in Ireland but is unproven on this surface, so we are happy to side with Attorney.
