Hurricane Coast is in tremendous heart at present and will make a bold bid to land the hat-trick, however on this occasion Ripple Effect may just come out on top, with Cretan Gift also given a bit of a squeak. Ripple Effect was a course and distance winner in early December and although flopping over a longer trip next time, returned to his best with a gallant second to Type One on his most recent outing, a repeat of that showing should be good enough here. Hurricane Coast is making his Lingfield debut but there was a lot to like about his two victories at Southwell when beating some reliable performers, if he acts on this surface he will be a major threat. Cretan Gift may be 13 years of age but he ran a cracker here in December in a much better contest when not beaten far by the likes of Law Breaker and Texas Gold. Of the others the German raider Happy Camper is worth a look in the betting, but we will take Ripple Effect to land the spoils.
