A poor maiden to close the card at Dunstall Park and we will side with ORIENTAL CAVALIER to get the better of Mile High Lad and Kool Katie. The selection turned in an improved performance over course and distance last time out, finding only Godolphin's newcomer Naseehah too strong and a repeat of that form could see Graham Gibbons mount break his duck at the 12th time of asking. The horse is officially rated 70 and whilst perhaps not worthy of that mark has certainly run good races off similar marks in handicap company and in such a weak race may take some beating from a good draw in stall three. Mile High Lad is similarly exposed but has arguably shown his best form on artificial surfaces and therefore merits respect here over a suitable trip with Matthew Davies claiming a valuable 5lbs. If you go back far enough this horse finished a close second at Kempton to one now rated 102 and whilst it would be madness to take a literal view of that form it does nonetheless suggest the horse has a semblance of ability and in this race that may be all that is required. Kool Katie has bits and pieces of form over a variety of trips, most notably when second to an improving Hughie Morrison horse at Chester in the summer and with Seb Sanders up could run into a place at a rewarding price, whilst Hughie Morrison himself runs Albiera, a horse who is yet to show any really worthwhile form but is far less exposed than some although he has work to do with the selection on their form last time out over course and distance. Of the remainder, newcomers Beyond Atlow and Misty Kit are worth a market check in such a weak contest whilst Reg Hollinshead's other entry Interchoice Star has on occasion been well supported suggesting better is expected, but for the winner we return to Oriental Cavalier to round of the action at Wolverhampton.
