In depth

Verdict

Merrymaker can land the prize at the main expense of Capitalise and Wind Flow. The selection finished in mid-division in a race won by Bugsy's Boy when last seen out here in December. The drop in trip will play to his strengths and this course and distance winner looks a solid bet. Wind Flow was well beaten at Kempton last time and he looks to be in the grip of the handicapper at present. Capitalise has disappointed on his last 2 starts and it is worth noting that his 2 wins on the all-weather have both come at Lingfield. He also has the worst of the draw, and although that is not hugely significant over this trip, he could still be one to swerve at the forecast odds. Cotton Eyed Joe was returning from a break at Musselburgh when last seen so he could fare better tonight. However, for the winner we will stick with Merrymaker.
