Call My Bluff can defy topweight, with Pop Music, Golden Spectrum, Buscador and Barbirolli all making for an open-looking contest. Although saddled with 9st 8lb here, Call My Bluff has more chance than most based on a solid winning effort in maiden company at Lingfield nine days ago. He showed enormous improvement to score there, having run much too freely here the time before on what was his return from a gelding operation. The ex-French performer should have even more to come, and should be capable of shrugging off his rise. Pop Music has been pretty consistent and has form round here, while Golden Spectrum is a bit in-and-out but looks well weighted at present. Mark Brisbourne's pair, Buscador and Barbirolli, have both been placed in the past, so are another couple to mention, but Call My Bluff is lightly-raced considering his age, and is the one to be on.
