In depth

Verdict

Knotty Ash Girl should open her account here. A 24,000gn yearling, she was placed in three of her four races last term. She was brought down on her reappearance at Carlisle last month, but showed no ill effects by finishing fourth at Pontefract recently. This is her first venture on sand though, so caution is the watchword. Assayer plugged on to be third in a maiden on this track in March and has not been entirely disgraced since, so is likely to follow her home. Noosa Court was last on her debut, but improved to finish fourth in the Carlisle event in which Knotty Ash Girl was a casualty.
