Verdict

MUSICAL SCRIPT should be calling the tune here with Manchestermaverick and Avontuur acting as support acts The Mouse Hamilton-Fairley trained gelding is on a three timer here after and impressive run of form at Kempton. Weekly visits to the London track culminated in his latest victory in a moderate handicap which didn't take much winning. But he ran well under a penalty to take the contest and his other form shows he's at the top of his game. Manchestermaverick is nothing if not consistent at this level and his last run, where he failed to improve on a decent second place, can be forgiven after he was almost on his nose after stumbling out of the stalls; he still recovered to finish fourth. Plenty of support for this one in his form too and his two second places in four starts shows enough promise. It seems that Avontuur prefers cut in the ground and it is under those conditions where the gelding's best performances have come so far. His all weather form isn't too bad and the six-year-old ran well at this track back in April and shouldn't be ignored. Cape of Storms could be one at a bigger price after a few consistent showings recently while the same can be said for The Salwick Flyer who posted a couple of placings over course and distance back in April but it's Musical Script for us in this one.
