      Verdict

      Guardian of Truth and Chord both have to be respected but Alma Mater really takes the eye on pedigree and she gets the vote to open her account. The selection is a half-sister to dual Champion Stakes winner Alborada and triple 1m4f Group 1 winner Albanova and made a pleasing enough debut when a creditable third at Kempton on her debut. Granted natural improvement for that run, Sir Mark Prescott's filly can take this prior to stepping up in class. Kwazulu showed only a modicum of ability on his debut, while Golden Wave needs to step up on the form shown on both starts so far to trouble the judge. Guardian of Truth has shown a consistent level of form and has to be respected along with Sir Michael Stoute's Chord who ran better on his reappearance at Lingfield but Alma Mater really takes the eye and gets the verdict.
