Verdict

It's not too hard to see why connections are persevering with BELLE JOSEPHINE as the Dubawi filly cost 460,000gns at Tattersalls back in 2009. A win would do wonders for her paddocks value and Mark Johnston has certainly found a soft target here. She has obviously had training problems but should be good enough on this belated debut, although any negativity in the market would be off-putting. Red Shuttle is the obvious danger. He was under a length behind the long odds-on Tappanappa at Lingfield on his first run since an inauspicious bumper debut a year previously. He looks the sort to come on and is clearly the one if the Johnston filly fails to fire on debut. Red Soles has shown nothing to date but it's probably noteworthy that Charles Hills continues to persist.
