        Verdict

        It was only August 2010 when Cloudy Start was running off a mark of 108 when just three and a half lengths behind the very useful Secrecy but since then his mark has plummeted rapidly and he runs here off just 58. Any semblance of a rediscovery of his old form would be good enough but until he signals a return he's probably best avoided. Tony Carroll has his string in good heart and his fair dual purpose performer, VERTUEUX, looks a safer recommendation. He hasn't scored since 2010 but continues to deliver a fair account under both codes and stuck on well when a respectable third to Celtic Charlie at Lingfield last time. Lucky Diva looks another promising ride for Jake Payne and although yet to score on the all-weather has every chance if repeating the level which saw her score at Bath and Warwick last summer.
