Spinning Ridge is certainly paying his way and made it six wins in less than a year when battling on resiliently to score here in a driving finish with Marvo last month. He's consistent and effective in this grade but a chance is taken with VIOLENT VELOCITY to overcome an absence dating back to October. John Quinn's solid stable servant ended the turf campaign in good heart, performing consistently well at Class 5 handicap level. He's not an all-weather regular but has gone well here in the past for that not to be a concern. Cheers Buddy has done little since landing back-to-back Irish handicaps last spring but is a worth a market check on this first run for the Griffiths team, whilst Petomic cannot be discounted on recent efforts either.
