        Verdict

        Professional losers a plenty on view with Cark, Calendar Girl and Diaphanous more likely suitors. Cark has plenty of speed and has disappointed a variety of trainers throughout his career. Yet to win on this surface, he seems invariably to find one too good. Calendar Girl is unexposed and with Peter Makin's name in the training column makes plenty of appeal if up to the task. Diaphanous barely stays five furlongs and is another to try and thwart a long losing run. Torrent is a light of former days and the market is watched for any clues. So Sober hails from an in-form yard although his recent work is anything to write home about. Calendar Girl is given a tentative vote with Torrent watched in the market.
