In depth

Verdict

Another tricky race to call here with DVINSKY given the nod ahead of Bahamian Lad and Imprimis Tagula. The selection has a couple of course and distance wins to his name and has won from higher than today's mark of 75 on more than one occasion. He was not far away off the same rating at Kempton last time and we'll just give him the nod. Bahamian Lad will be popular after winning last time, although he has gone up 5lbs for that and has the worst of the draw to overcome tonight. Imprimis Tagula is potentially well handicapped and goes well over this trip, but has never won away from Southwell, which puts us off. Rio Cobolo is 6lbs higher than when scoring over 7f at Beverley last time and is also effective over this distance, while he appears to go on any surface, so we give him due respect despite his tougher task. Bonnie Prince Blue looks capable of closing the gap on Rio Cobolo based on their Catterick running, now 4lbs better off, but preference here is for Dvinsky.
