Elopement can follow up at the expense of Icannshift, Darghan and Montjeu's Melody. This class 5 affair looks pretty wide-open, with Elopement gaining just a tentative vote on the strength of her latest back-to-form victory at Warwick. She bamboozled her opponents that day, as she normally comes from off the pace, but was taken straight into the lead by Jamie Spencer to make all of the running. That was the first time that the Irishman had sat on her, and it is no surprise that he keeps the ride here. It will be interesting to see whether she is taken on for the lead by Icannshift, a confirmed front-runner who made all in class 6 company at Folkestone last time. He has a bit more to do but at least lines up with recent winning form to his name. Darghan will be all the better for his return to action at Goodwood where he was third on faster ground, and he is not badly treated on last year's form. Montjeu's Melody was a little unlucky-in-running at Brighton last time, and is learning all the time, but for the winner we go back to Elopement.
