    Verdict

Ascot Day bids for a hat-trick off a 5lb higher mark having won a decent handicap at Lingfield back in January and debuts on Turf today. Evergate has recorded a string of seconds this year and found only Copper Knight, who won again at York last week, too good at Chelmsford with Tomily well beaten. Yalta has been competing in pattern company and will find life easier in this but YALAWIN landed the odds at Ripon in good style on his reappearance and Roger Varian’s colt looks the one to beat on his handicap debut.
