In depth

Verdict

Prince Mahler has had a good 2017 but might just be a little too high in the weights now, although this does not rate the strongest of contests as all runners look pretty exposed. The one exception could prove to be SHOTOFWINE who remains quite lightly-raced over timber. Ryan Day claims a handy 3lb and he was far from disgraced last time when filling the minor placing over 3m at Newcastle. His form is somewhat hit-and-miss but he'll give a good account if on a going day. Oscar Jane was no match for the in-form Lovely Touch at Southwell last time but she'll handle conditions and would get involved if displaying her best.
