Diamond Katie has improved with each run this term and is taken to beat Calabaza, with King Forever, Councellor and Zipadeedoodah worth a mention as well. This looks a fairly open maiden that gets things under way at the Berkshire track, but we will pin our hopes on Diamond Katie in the belief that she can get recent losses back. Rae Guest's filly did all bar win at Doncaster a fortnight ago when leading inside the final furlong, but succumbing to the late challenge of debutante Wrighty Almighty. The latter's stable is in top form at present so that result was not a total surprise, but although Jeremy Noseda will have a line to the form concerning his runner here King Forever, Diamond Katie has stronger claims. Calabaza shaped well enough when third at Ripon last time but will be of more interest when going handicapping, while Councellor has a break to overcome but hails from an in-form stable, and Zipadeedoodah may appreciate the step up in trip but that is about all he has going for him. All in all, this presents Diamond Katie with her best chance yet of opening her account.
