The betting will help guide in this race but we will side with Brynn Palling's Edge Of Gold ahead of Fifty, Gone Fast and Politeia. The selection actually finished first on her debut (and unseated her rider after the finishing line) but was subsequently disqualified and placed second for interfering with the actual runner-up. She was unfancied that day but showed that she has plenty of ability and assuming that she stays on the straight and narrow this evening, she can win (again). Richard Hannon has a likely-looking pair in Fifty (a 50,000 guineas Fasilyev filly) and the once-raced Politeia. The last-named made her debut in a hot maiden at HQ and wasn't beaten far so if she handles the slower ground today then she looks a real threat. Gower Belle and Lille Tuva should come on for their debut efforts, whilst Paul Cole is capable of producing a horse to win first time out so Jazz Jam deserves more than just a cursory glance. Gone Fast is likely to be popular for a powerful trainer and jockey combination, especially having proven himself on the going, however Edge Of Gold can land the spoils.
