This is a tricky race and if there is any money for the selection, Born To Be Bold, we would be interested, although Awitesweetheart, Depressed, Cesar Manrique, Pitch Up and Fisberry all have to be considered. Basically, Born To Be Bold's maiden form is solid, particularly the narrow second to Exmoor two runs ago, so he has to be considered here, although so does Fisberry, whose Haydock maiden defeat of Code Orange has been franked by that filly winning on Saturday night. Awitesweetheart can blaze the trail and was just beaten over course and distance last time, but has a five-pound ratings rise to defy now, although she holds Emerald Bay on literal form from that race. Depressed ran well off a five pound lower mark over course and distance two runs ago and, despite disappointing last time, is worth considering again back here. Cesar Manrique certainly has a race of this nature in him, and the form of his Folkestone fifth last time is solid enough, although he is narrowly held by Pitch Up on that form, while Pippa's Dancer is probably better than her Sandown run last time might suggest. As we say, it's tricky, but we will side with Born To Be Bold.
