Greek Well can start to fulfil his undoubted potential here, with Imperial Star, Follow On, Musical Magic and Samarinda all worth a mention at least. Those with burnt fingers will remember Greek Well being the subject of a big ante-post gamble for this year's Vodafone Derby over the winter, and he now has the chance to repay some of the faith in him by at least landing this maiden. On his first visit to the Berkshire track a fortnight ago, the son of Sadler's Wells got embroiled in trouble with half a mile to go, and after being badly squeezed, was heavily eased by Robert Winston, eventually finishing 14th of the 18 runners. Without doubt he would have made his presence felt, and this full-brother to the likes of Islington and Greek Dance will surely make a bold bid to make amends. He might not be Group material just yet, but is just the sort to land a big handicap later this summer, and in the meantime should be followed closely. There are plenty of other animals of potential in the line-up as well, including Imperial Star who certainly looked the part on his debut Newmarket where he encountered soft ground and could only finish fifth. He has more to offer, as do the likes of Follow On, Musical Magic and Samarinda, but we remain loyal to Greek Well and Kieren Fallon.
