      Verdict

      MAYGOLD improved with each run last year and got off the mark on Polytrack at Lingfield in September. She hasn’t raced since but, given her rate of progression, a 3lb rise seems more than fair and she drops down a grade for this. Marietta Robusti has also won on Polytrack and her stable has started the new Turf season strongly. The champion rides the Equiano filly, who will lack nothing in fitness. G Eye Joe stays further and that may come in handy in the conditions while Give Em A Clump won on heavy going at Ffos Las last year, though is among the most exposed.
