    Verdict

RED RUNAWAY probably found the King George V Handicap at Royal Ascot a little too hot to handle but Ed Dunlop's colt had looked progressive, and having foregone an alternative engagement, he can take advantage of this drop in grade. Thwart has to be given the utmost respect as she has been cannily placed by connections. Unsighted in three quick outings as a juvenile, she has made the handicapper pay with two easy wins at Kempton. Glenard was highly tried as a youngster and though he's failed to trouble the judge this year, his recent appearance at Windsor was at least a step in the right direction. Simple Joys was tried over a mile in maidens and Andrew Balding's filly has shaped as if tonight's step up in trip should not inconvenience.
