In depth

Verdict

Scriptwriter could be the best option in this tricky handicap, Group Captain and Planet are two others worthy of respect. The Godolphin owned top-weight showed plenty of promise in two runs as a juvenile before comfortably landing a Beverley maiden. There could be plenty more to come and he can give weight and a beating to these rivals. Group Captain caused a major shock when winning at Sandown last time, he will find it difficult to follow up today but should still be capable of getting involved in the finish. Planet has been in great form all season and has deserved his two victories. He may need to drop a couple of pounds before winning again, but should still be fighting for some place money. The best of the rest could be Prince Vector, but Scriptwriter may have got in lightly for his handicap debut and he gets the vote.
