A typically competitive nursery with plenty of the 12 runners holding claims including, at the top end of the handicap, Encanto, Island Swing and Withering Lady but the vote goes to Madhavi. The selection hails from the stable of Richard Hannon that does well with their runners in this grade and it would come as no surprise to see the daughter of Diktat step up on previous form now that she tackles a nursery for the first time. Top weight Encanto ran well on his first start in a handicap when a close fourth at Newmarket recently and has to be respected but, along with recent Kempton fourth Island Swing, may have too much weight. Nerys Dutfield's Withering Lady is more exposed than most and of more interest may be Tequila Sheila, for who the booking of Kieren Fallon takes the eye. Willie Musson's Debs Broughton showed improved form when last seen two months ago and could be interesting on her return under Lisa Jones. The Derek Haydn Jones-trained Alvarinho Lady is another worthy of a mention but Madhavi looks to be going the right way and, from a good draw, gets the vote.
