In depth

Verdict

Road To Recovery is just about the pick of those with an official BHB rating but Andrew Balding's gelding is clearly nothing out of the ordinary and it may pay to look at the less exposed runners for the winner with preference for Well Placed over Everygrainofsand. The last mentioned has shown promise in all three starts so far and is entitled to be thereabouts. Contentious was well held on her debut and of more interest may be the newcomer Glencal, who is nicely related and comes from a yard that can ready one first time out. A market move for the newcomer Tubby Isaacs would be of interest but the vote goes to another debutant Well Placed, who is speedily bred and hails from the in-form yard of William Haggas.
