A competitive affair in which Rampallion, Narvik, Gentlemens Deal and Pinpoint form the shortlist and we are with Rampallion. Godolphin have arrived untypically mobhanded for this race and they have set the handicapper a real puzzle with Rampallion. A comprehensive winner at Newmarket, he could literally be anything but we have the knowledge that trip and ground will suit. Narvik looked a very useful juvenile and has clearly had training troubles. If he has trained on, he has to be a player. Gentlemans Deal has taken some time to come to hand but has progressed nicely throughout the later months of the campaign and was the subject of support ahead of his most recent run. Pinpoint brings Cambridgeshire form to the table although the suspicion is that he is better on a faster surface. Kingsholm has similarly progressed although the handicapper has plenty of chances to look at him. Charlie Tokyo doesn't look one to trust implicitly and the visor has been reached for in the hope that the horse can find some measure of resolution. Blue Spinnaker has been woefully out of form for some time although soft ground should present few problems. Folio and Kruggerand are regulars at this level and the market is best watched for clues.
