The short list in the nursery consists of Bertoliver, who gets the vote, Atlantic Story and Sparkling Eyes. Bertoliver ran a cracker of a race to finish eighth in the Tattersalls October Auction Stakes from what was a modest draw on the day. His mark appears very fair and it would be no surprise to see him go well. Atlantic Story rates as an obvious danger, having looked very progressive when scoring by 12 lengths in a Catterick maiden, and it is no surprise to see connections run her quickly under a penalty. On form from earlier in the season, Sparkling Eyes has the beating of Reebal and could prove to be well weighted, while Goodbye Cash comes into this race in good heart, having won at Ayr, and, generally consistent, cannot be ruled out of a bold show. Finally, a drop in trip might help Silkie Smooth today, and much as Now Look Out won his maiden well, he is a little hard to assess coming into this race. Maybe the betting will provide your best guide but, for today, the selection is Bertoliver.
