In depth

Verdict

In this handicap, Master Pegasus is selected ahead of Mr Aviator and Blue Monkey. Blue Trojan might need his first run of the season. A small amount of improvement might see Master Pegasus being competitive, and his maiden win came on soft. Apex has been making hay of late but was beaten from new mark at Salisbury four days ago, while Full Victory needs a career-best performance if he is going to score, although he too likes soft going. Ashes Regained and Rebellious Spirit possibly have something to prove at present, while Heroes has yet to build on his juvenile promise this time around, although he is another that likes to get his toe in. Mr Aviator comes here in good heart and a two pounds rise for a good Goodwood effort certainly does not rule him out of things, Barons Spy has shown that he can get his head in the picture from around his current rating, and Blue Monkey is another that showed a liking for juice in the going when winning at Haydock last time and a five-pounds rise is not overly prohibitive. All in all, it is not an easy race to work out, with the selection being Master Pegasus.
