Verdict

CONFLICTOFINTEREST may well return the shortest priced winner of the day in the finale where he can confine Keki Buku and Quaddick Lake to minor roles. Plenty of hype surrounded the selection prior to his debut at Ascot and he was backed accordingly only to find the Queen's Gold Award too strong. The winner went on to finish a highly creditable ninth at Cheltenham whilst the runner-up was left to mop up some prize money at Ayr. He's a top prospect for the season ahead. He may not have everything his own way here as Keki Buku ran well enough on his hurdling bow at Uttoxeter behind the smart Diamond Harry and should be able to build on that. Quaddick Lake has some rebuilding to do and it was hard to take too many positives from his reappearance at Exeter but he had given evidence of his talent just over a year ago when falling at the last at Cheltenham when upsides Snap Tie. There are some fair sorts on show here but Conflictofinterest is expected to prove to be the best of them.
