In depth

Verdict

Pol Crocan carries a penalty for a battling course and distance victory and the placed horses have done nothing for the form. Blumen Glory chased the clear leader on his hurdling debut here last month and kept on well to hold on for second. HELL RED, a close second at Auteuil on his only start in France, made an impressive start for Paul Nicholls at Chepstow when making all. He started a short-priced favourite for the Grade 2 Triumph Trial at Chepstow in November but had breathing problems. However, he has had wind surgery so will be expected to get back on track. None of the remainder make much appeal.
