Verdict

A nice prize has attracted a strong line-up. CERTAINLY RED was left clear for an easy track and trip success in December then landed a Class 3 handicap in convincing fashion over 2m4f at Sandown. He's up 8lb but can complete a hat-trick. Kapga De Lily has a superb record over fences, winning seven times in the season before last. She ran very well for a long way on her reappearance at Ascot and Lucy Turner's claim puts her in the frame for this. Southfield Harvest looked a nice staying prospect when scoring over 3m2f at Newton Abbot in May 2021 and looked on the way back to form after a long absence when a bad mistake put paid to his chances at Chepstow in December. Potters Legend has won several times at a higher level than this and was only headed close home at Catterick last time while some rain would aid the cause of Golden Sovereign, who was returning from 674 days off when a close third here on Boxing Day.
