Verdict

MIDNIGHT MIDGE is a consistent performer at this grade and higher, especially on good ground. He completed a double over fences at Taunton at the backend of last year and was narrowly beaten over this track and trip last time. Harlem Soul, a winner over hurdles at this venue, scored twice over fences here in December and, though raised 6lb, appears to be progressing. Dual hurdles winner Mongol Emperor is gradually dropping to a winnable mark over the bigger obstacles while Rock Of Star found heavy ground against him at Uttoxeter after falling two out when in touch at Chepstow on his chasing debut.
