In depth

Verdict

Freddie Gingell is making a name for himself and rode Fame And Fun to victory at Taunton in December but Paul Nicholls' charge is 6lb higher and his rider is unable to claim his 6lb so this is much tougher. Sami Bear scored at Plumpton in April and has reappeared in good form, finishing a close second over this track and trip in November, though his rider was claiming 7lb that day. Seymour Promise was beaten a long way into second over the minimum here on his return from a very long break last month but was staying on so the longer trip should suit. TORULA had little chance behind a long odds-on winner at Huntingdon but showed potential and can make a successful handicap debut as Sermando ran poorly at Huntingdon but would have a chance on his previous form providing the ground doesn't ease further.
