HARTSIDE had hinted at better before stepping up to 1m4f on heavy ground at Tramore on Monday though few would have expected him to land that handicap by 11 lengths. He takes another big step up in trip and races on faster ground here but can hardly be opposed under a 5lb penalty as he'll be raised by much more than that in future races. First Friday is at the opposite end of the weight scale after two recent wins, the latest by seven lengths. He's up 5lb and also tackling this trip for the first time but is improving fast. Foinse hasn't had much experience but showed her first sign of ability at Leopardstown and is on a fair enough mark but the biggest threat may emerge from another lowly weighted type in Everything Zain, who has progressed considerably on the Flat and over hurdles and looks capable of scoring off higher marks than this.
