STEEL STOCKHOLDER has the best piece of recent form with a second at Doncaster. That came over 7f but Mel Brittain's charge will take some pegging back in this grade if allowed his own way in front. Thrust Control is another stepping down in trip after finishing runner-up over a mile last time but he's scored twice over 6f and should be thereabouts. Plenty of the others have been placed recently without looking like winning and they include Needy McCredie, Brave Battle and Lord Buffhead with preference for the latter dropping in class.
