      Verdict

An open looking contest with a number of leading contenders such as Gipsy Geoff. Ferdy Murphy's charge has been well placed to win two of his last three starts but the handicapper may now have his measure now having been raised a total of 11lb as he was comfortably held off this mark last time. Kingsdown Trix won't mind these fast conditions and ran well in defeat last time following an absence. However, his overall record suggests that he has a little to find on these terms while Able Native would prefer more cut in the ground and Dix Bay has been out of action since December and may just need the outing so Pertino gets the verdict. Malcolm Jefferson's charge is in tremendous fettle at present and, with ground conditions unlikely to bother him, he looks sure to give another good account in his bid to follow up his recent Carlisle victory off a 4lb higher mark.
