A weak contest should go to Dantie Boy who has shown that a race of this nature is well within his compass. The Philip Hobbs-trained gelding showed the benefit of experience when a staying-on runner-up over slightly shorter here last month and has nothing to fear from MR Woodland who was already beaten when falling four out. The latter has failed to recapture the form of his Wincanton success and is set to struggle once again under his 6lb penalty while Just Caramel is exposed as being nothing out of the ordinary and the remainder face a stiff task.
