Verdict
Bob Mountain is the pick over Roaringwater and Mister Jungle, with Majestic Vision, Polar Gale and Vicious Prince others to note. This has the makings of a competitive affair, and only a narrow vote goes the way of Bob Mountain who, having had four outings in bumpers, duly made a winning start to his career over timber when scoring at Uttoxeter in September, the step up in trip obviously helping. He should progress and may be good enough to stave off the challenge of Roaringwater who finished runner-up in division one of the same novices' hurdle at Uttoxeter that was run in a slightly slower time. However, that was his first outing since July, and he is entitled to improve. Perth second Mister Jungle needs more time, while Polar Gale is perhaps best watched on his return to racing under rules. Majestic Vision has a penalty to carry and needs to step up on a selling victory at Southwell, and Vicious Prince has his first taste of the winter game at the age of seven. He could turn out to be useful, but on this occasion we prefer the claims of Bob Mountain.
