A large field goes to post for this hunter chase but, on closer inspection, not many can be given a serious chance of winning and the principals look to be Raffles Rooster, Lord Of The River and Master Wood and the vote goes too Lord Of The River. The gelding from there Nicky Henderson yard was a fair sort at his best and with the drop in grade and conditions in his favour, will be hard to beat. Raffles Rooster is another dropping in grade, but although he travels well in his races, he finds little off the bridle and for that reason he is opposed. Master Wood is also worthy of respect. He goes particularly well at this track, will like the ground, is sure to have come on for his latest second in a point-to-point and has definite place claims. Of the remainder Boogy Woogy is getting long in the tooth but stays and jumps and he could go well at a big price, but for the winner we return to the formerly classy Lord Of The River with the useful Harry Fowler taking the ride.
