Verdict

It is good to see Nas Na Riogh back on the track and she can make a winning return from Avitta and Maceo. The Nicky Henderson-trained selection was smart as a juvenile last season and, with the physical scope to progress further, she can score here. Admittedly, she has had her problems but, unless the market says something markedly different, she might pay to follow. Avitta, fifth in a valuable mares' hurdle at Sandown two runs ago, might chase her home. Maceo is a course winner from a mark of 109 and is now rated 127 but his rider takes ten pounds off his back, while Bernardon can be given a chance if back to the best of his form when with Martin Pipe. However, he did not show too much on his debut for Richard Guest. Through The Rye has shown little since winning at Kelso in March 2002 and does not look obviously well-handicapped. Overall, then, we'll side with Nas Na Riogh.
