In depth

Verdict

This race will be staged at a pretty healthy gallop and PISTOL BASC can take the contest at the expense of Matmata De Tendron and Stagecoach Diamond. Ferdy Murphy's runner has won here previously and seemed to need every yard of the trip. He seemed to be outpaced on a return from absence at Sedgefield and should have come on for the run. Matmata De Tendron stays this trip and is potentially still well treated versus his hurdling form. The going should not be a problem. Stagecoach Diamond seems likely to front run them and could be dangerous if securing a healthy advantage. Fine Parchment is fresh from a victory at Fontwell over 3m2f and has to be respected from a yard that have shown notably improved form of late. Killard Point is quirky while Jeringa can be anticipated to travel handily. Pistol Basc is off a light racing weight and having shown promise of better for a step up in trip, we are hopeful that he can deliver it this afternoon.
