Smugglers Bay was good value for his defeat of John Dillon at Aintree and Tim Easterby's gelding should be tough to beat of able to reproduce that form so he gets the vote ahead of Cornell Precedent and Mr Crystal. The last mentioned also beat John Dillon on his most recent start so there is a good form line between him and the selection but Micky Hammond's gelding was not as impressive as Smugglers Bay. Callisto Moon has shown a consistent level of form and has to be respected but may again have to settle for minor honours, while Falcon's Fire has done nothing wrong so far but may struggle under his penalty. Of more interest may be John Quinn's Cornell Precedent who has already shown better form over hurdles than he did on the flat but Smugglers Bay is hard to oppose on Aintree form and he gets the vote.
