The lightly race Colloquial has enough scope to shrug aside top weight in this company and is fancied to have to many guns for Heathyards Pride, Aoninch and Linnet. There are also each-way cases that can be made for Velvet Waters and Smart John, who are closely matched on recent form and they can help to make this competitive. Linnet started the campaign well and may still have a bit more to offer. However, she was no match for Aoninch at Salisbury 18 days ago and now has a bit to prove. Aoninch, in turn, comes in the race on a career highest mark and will need everything to drop just right for her. She is a previous course and distance winner though and is no forlorn hope to at least make the frame. Heathyards Pride is only 1lb worse off with Great View from their encounter at Beverley and this lightly raced five-year-old - a winner of six of his previous sixteen starts - can be relied upon to run his race. However, Colloquial stands out as the one open to the most improvement and this son of high-class stayer Classic Cliche is fancied to be too hard to resist when he starts to motor near the finish.
