Coleorton Dane may be flattered by his proximity to Pivotal Flame in a York maiden on his debut and, with doubts concerning his ability to stay the extra furlong, preference is for McEldowney, who gets the verdict over Dry Ice. The selection has had the benefit of two starts and showed improved form when upped to this trip at Beverley and a reproduction of the form shown behind Bridge Place may suffice for Mark Johnston's colt. Henry Candy's Dry Ice showed plenty of promise on his Windsor debut and rates a bigger threat than Leicester third Hawridge King. The newcomers Ansells Legacy, who represents the back to form stable of Alan Berry, Sylvester Kirk's Fraam colt Sea Map and Michael Bell's Skidrow all warrant respect first time out but McEldowney sets a decent standard and gets the vote.
